Back to the Finnish Immigration Service
Some cases are not won in one step. Sometimes the most important result is getting the case back to the authority, with the earlier decision removed and the facts placed in the right position again.
This case has been under fight since April 2025.
The Finnish Immigration Service had cancelled our client’s residence permit and ordered removal from Finland. We appealed the decision to the Administrative Court because the matter had not been assessed in the way it should have been, and the reality of the situation had developed significantly after the original decision.
After a long process, the Administrative Court has now annulled the decision of the Finnish Immigration Service and returned the case back for re-evaluation.
This means that the previous negative decision no longer stands as it was. The matter must now be assessed again by the Finnish Immigration Service, taking into account the updated circumstances and the material that was brought forward during the appeal process.
For our client, this is an important and necessary result. It keeps the case alive, removes the immediate weight of the earlier decision, and gives the authority the opportunity to examine the matter again on a more complete basis.
A case is not always finished when the first negative decision is issued. Sometimes the first decision is only the beginning of the legal work that needs to be done.
We have been working on this matter since April 2025, and now the case returns to the Finnish Immigration Service for a new assessment.
