Happy New Year With Another Positive Decision!

This time, our client is a student who has come from a third country as a student and wants to change his residence permit status from studies to work.

Although, at first glance, this appears to be an easy process, one needs to understand that the devil is hiding between the details. It is a very tricky process, and one of the most difficult in Finland at the moment. To change a residence permit based on studies to a residence permit based on work and make sure that you are not part of the Finnish Alien’s Act §36, paragraph 2 when you are doing such a transition is challenging, to say the least.

Our client tried to apply for a residence permit based on work while studying, but he received a negative decision. When he arrived at our office, we had to appeal the case to the Administrative Court, apply for a new residence permit based on employment grounds and try to fix the grounds from the previous residence permit.

We successfully appealed the case to the Administrative Court and applied for a new residence permit on our client´s behalf. It is with great pleasure that we present you the decision of 4 years residence permit type A that the client received two months after the application was lodged.

We are happy that our client trusted us in this case. We wish other clients facing the same or similar situation – of having already issues with negative decisions and needing to appeal the case to the Administrative Court and those who never had issues but started the process from the beginning – to contact us with expectations to receive similar results. We always strive to provide the best services to our clients!

Our office will continue providing legal and/or administrative services with diligence and empathy, as immigration matters can significantly impact people’s lives. If you are facing legal issues, do not hesitate to contact us!

We have also expanded our practice into other legal fields, such as Labor Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Family Law, and more.
