Our client came to our office with a negative decision on his application for secondary protection as he has a permanent residence permit in Ukraine. The secondary protection he applied for in Finland received a negative decision, so he contacted our office for assistance.

We like challenges, so we had to take this case and see if we could find a solution. We immediately started looking for an alternative solution and found that our client had a permanent employment contract on the cleaning sector, so our next possible approach was to apply for a residence permit on grounds of employment.

According to the law, the maximum processing time for a residence permit on the basis of employment grounds is four months. Our client received the residence permit in 7 months. Although the decision is positive, it took longer than expected, because Finnish Immigration Service have been slow to process applications due to the high demand of immigration services created by asylum and secondary protection applications from Ukraine and the delay in some applications due to the impact of COVID-19. Abnormal situations demand a level of understanding from everyone.

Despite the current situation, we managed to obtain a residence permit on the basis of employment grounds for our client. We are very pleased we have taken this case and that we have managed to resolve it.

We ask those who find themselves in need of such services to contact us, receive consultation on their case and allow us to represent their best interest.

We have expanded our operation to other legal fields, such as Employment Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Family Law and more
