A Strong Case, A Fast Result
Our office recently handled an extension residence permit application based on employment grounds for a client who is working in Finland in the logistics sector.
The situation itself was straightforward, but as many people who have gone through the process know, straightforward cases do not always translate into quick decisions. Residence permit extensions often remain in processing for months while the Finnish Immigration Service reviews employment conditions, salary levels, and compliance with the relevant legal requirements.
In this case, we prepared the application carefully from the beginning. Every essential element of the case was presented clearly so that the decision-maker would not have to speculate or request further clarification. The employment relationship, the applicable professional field, and the continuity of work were all documented in a way that allowed the Finnish Immigration Service to assess the matter without delay.
In less than one and a half months from the moment the extension application was submitted, the Finnish Immigration Service issued a positive decision granting a continuous residence permit. The permit was issued as an A-type permit valid from 4 March 2026 until 4 March 2030 under Section 72 of the Aliens Act, allowing our client to continue working in the occupational field of postal and parcel delivery services.
A four-year permit provides something that every worker and every family values: stability. It allows our client to continue building their professional life in Finland without the constant uncertainty that shorter permits often bring.
When an application is prepared properly, with the necessary documentation and a clear legal structure, the authority can reach a decision without unnecessary delay.
For our client, the result was exactly what they came to Finland for in the first place: the ability to continue working, living, and planning their future here with legal certainty.
