Another Permanent Residence Permit Issued!

Securing our client’s permanent residence permit involved presenting solid evidence, particularly highlighting the consistent profitability of his business over the years. Detailed bank statements were included to clearly show his financial transactions, especially those related to his mother’s medical expenses, which helped demonstrate his responsible handling of finances.

Rather than accepting the ELY-Keskus report at face value, we challenged it by pointing out that they hadn’t followed good administrative practices, making assumptions about our client’s business without asking for clarification. By citing relevant Finnish laws that emphasize fairness and thoroughness in reviews, we argued that their conclusions were not only incorrect but also unfair.

In our response, we carefully referenced the Finnish Alien’s Act and the Administrative Procedure Act to back up our points, emphasizing that our client’s rights were at risk of being unfairly restricted and that his case deserved balanced consideration. Given his contributions to society and personal circumstances, it was clear that he had every reason to expect that his business and stay in Finland would continue smoothly.

To shift the focus from just numbers to the real-life responsibilities our client was handling, we humanized his situation by explaining the reasons behind his financial transactions, primarily to support his ill mother. By providing all the necessary documents and explanations, we cleared up any misconceptions about his business activities.

Maintaining a constructive and open line of communication with the Finnish Immigration Service was crucial. This allowed us to clear up misunderstandings and ensure they had a full and accurate picture of our client’s case. By consistently standing up for his rights and presenting every piece of evidence and legal argument clearly and strongly, our thorough and strategic approach played a key role in securing his permanent residence permit.
